Adapting the shot blasting machine and ensuring safety standards in the automotive industry

17.09.2024

A Japanese corporation, one of the largest manufacturers of automotive technology and supplier of auto parts, has ordered a tumble blast machine type GG-150 for its production facility in Hungary. With an emphasis on the safety, efficiency and reliability of its production processes, the company has set a series of specific requirements that reflect their high safety standards.

At Gostol TST, with our professional team, we successfully fulfilled all the client's requirements and ensured that the machine fully meets their safety guidelines and standards. Our team carefully studied all the requirements and effectively implemented them to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation of the machine.

The main safety requirements for the tumble blast machine type GG-150

  • Visibility of the dangerous area: The operator must have a clear and unobstructed view of all potentially dangerous points of the machine, which enables quick recognition of the danger and appropriate preventive action.
  • Hydraulic loader protection: The left and right sides of the hydraulic loader are equipped with a safety fence that prevents accidental contact with moving parts. The front side is additionally protected by an area safety scanner that detects the presence of people or objects and automatically stops the machine in case of danger.
  • Protective tunnel above the conveyor: To reduce the risk of injury, a protective tunnel is installed above the conveyor to prevent accidental access to moving parts during machine operation.
  • Ladder protection with steel flap: the ladder is protected by a steel flap that opens and locks with a safety latch. The flap is fitted with a switch to ensure that it is locked when the ladder is not in use.
  • Stopping the machine during maintenance work: During maintenance work or removing parts from the machine, it is necessary to use the main switch to stop the machine completely. A special "interlock" safety mechanism is used for manual removal of parts, which ensures that the machine is switched off and safe during work.
