Development of a satellite shot blasting machine for steel gas cartridges

27.02.2026

Together with our representative for the Czech market, we developed a new type of shot blasting machine tailored to the specific requirements of a customer form the metal processing industry. The project is the result of close cooperation between the representative, the end user, and our technical team, from the initial testing phase to the final technical solution.

The customer, an established European manufacturer of steel gas cartridges, had been operating an older spinner hanger shot blasting machine from a competing supplier. Our challenge was not only to offer a new machine, but to convince the customer of a technological upgrade and deliver measurable improvements in performance and efficiency.

Testing as the key to the decision

Before the final decision was made, we organized reference testing in Slovenia together with our representative and the customer, at a site where a Gostol TST spinner hanger shot blasting machine is in operation.

The customer evaluated the following on reference workpieces:

  • cleaning efficiency,
  • surface quality,
  • process repeatability,
  • cycle time.

The result was clear: the blasting cycle time was reduced from 6 minutes to 3.5 minutes, nearly a 50% shorter cycle compared to the existing competitor's machine.

Such a difference had a direct and significant impact on productivity and overall production economics.

Testing the shot blasting machine at customer's place

Development of a tailor-made solution: Satellite shot blasting machine with rotating hook

Based on detailed discussions with the customer and the results of the performed tests, we developed a new machine configuration.

The solution is a satellite shot blasting machine with rotating hook, where each chamber is equipped with rotating hooks onto which the workpieces are suspended. This design enables:

  • uniform exposure of all surfaces to the abrasive stream,
  • optimal utilization of the blasting wheels,
  • a stable and repeatable process,
  • and high productivity in serial production.

The machine is optimized for the blasting of steel gas cartridges, where uniform treatment, a clean surface, and reliable preparation for subsequent technological phases are critical requirements.

Significatn increase in productivity

With the implementation of the new satellite shot blasting machine with rotating hook, the customer achieved:

  • reduced cycle time,
  • increased production throughput,
  • a 200% increase in capacity compared to the previous machine.

The project clearly demonstrates that the combination of real-condition testing, open communication, and joint development is the key to delivering an optimal technical solution.

This project was not merely the sale of a new machine, but a clear example of successful partnership-driven development, delivering a solution that exceeded the initial expectations both technically and economically.

Such projects confirm our commitment to customized, efficient, and long-term sustainable solutions in the field of shot blasting technology.
