Shot blasting of components for power infrastructure

28.08.2026

For a manufacturer of equipment for power infrastructure, we designed, supplied and installed a KTP-1000x500 wire mesh belt shot blasting machine.

The customer manufactures a wide range of metal components used prmarily for overhead power lines, substations and other power infrastructure applications. Various workpieces, including spacers and supports, are processed in the machine. Due to their dimensions, shapes and production methods, these components are well suited for shot blasting on a wire mesh belt.

Different workpieces, one continuous process

The wire mesh belt shot blasting machine enables continuous processing of workpieces of various types and shapes. During the process, the workpieces travel through the blasting chamber, on a wire mesh belt, allowing the machine to be easily integrated into the production process while ensuring efficient and repeatable surface treatment.

The video below shows the blasting process.

In addition to the blasting process itself, the project incorporates solutions for reducing dust emissions, lowering energy consumption and monitoring machine operation.

Less dust and lower energy consumption

The installed dust collector cartridges ensure a dust concentration at the dust collector outlet of no more than 2 mg/m³.

Thanks to their low differential pressure, less fan power is required, resulting in lower electricity consumption and improved energy efficiency of the filtration system. The high filtration efficiency is also important when cleaned, heated air is returned to the production hall.

Smart dust collector cleaning

The installed blow-off programmer with differential pressure gauge (Economiser) digitally monitors the pressure difference and automatically adjusts the cleaning of the dust collector cartridges according to their actual level of saturation.

Cleaning is therefore carried out only when required, while the system also alerts the operator when the dust collector cartridges need to be replaced.

Energy consumption monitoring

The integrated energy measurement instrument enables monitoring of electricity consumption, current, power and voltage. The data is available on the PLC, providing the user with a better overview of the energy and cost efficiency of the shot blasting process.

Connectivity and remote support

The machine is also equipped with a communication interface that enables a secure connection and remote access to the system. This allows faster diagnostics, machine operation checks and more efficient technical support without the need for an on-site visit.

The KTP-1000x500 wire mesh belt shot blasting machine therefore goes beyond efficient shot blasting of various workpieces, combining low dust emissions and reduced energy consumption with advanced monitoring and connectivity.
